Adobe has long been the leader in professional graphic design but is Canva close to being regarded in the same professional sense?

This week Canva launched its first B2B UK campaign and it has openly discussed its goal of challenging Adobe over the years since its start in 2013. Canva's latest update was the addition of “Canvas Magic Media” which is an AI software designed to generate images from short text prompts. This came after the introduction of Adobes AI image generator.

Here at Out of Hand we have a split office when discussing if Canva is industry standard. I will start with arguably the most important voices in this conversation… our graphic designers!

Our in-house designers agree that Adobe takes the cake and is a more professional piece of tech, allowing for more advanced projects.

However, we do also believe that Canva has its place in the office too. For marketing and social media, Canva has its place in creating quick and easy graphics to suit a range of projects and styles.

Regardless, we are still an Adobe office and it is likely to remain this way for a long time. And we understand our design team's love for Adobe when they continue to create such great work using it.

Both posters above were created by our in-house design team (on Adobe) and were submitted for the British Comedy Guide Poster Awards!
