We are looking for people to join our growing distribution team, delivering promotional material door to door throughout Bristol. You will be working as part of a small team, met at the beginning of each day and given your stock and area of coverage (inc maps) for that day. This work suits people looking to get into promotions, door to door and canvassing. Or looking for some outdoor summer work across Bristol and keep active at the same time!

  • Good rates of pay, based on per 1,000 flyers
  • Working up to five days a week, Monday – Friday
  • We have both part time or full time positions available
  • Must be happy travelling around different areas in Bristol
  • All our team members carry a GPS tracking device (provided by us) whilst working - this accurately tracks each delivery right to the letterbox

Outdoor Advertising Maintenance Technician

Full time position

Out of Hand is an established design, print, distribution, and outdoor advertising specialist based in Bristol. We work with businesses and organisations of all sizes across the South West and Wales and have built a good reputation for providing high quality, cost effective and reliable services catering for the events and leisure sector.

We have a huge amount of street level, outdoor poster advertising frames that are built and installed by us, mostly of timber construction. We change the adverts on a fortnightly basis and the poster sites need regular maintenance to keep them looking tidy.

Working in a small team, you will be hard working, conscientious, reliable, methodical, have attention to detail and be willing to get stuck in with making sure our poster sites reflect the company well out on the street. You will be travelling to different locations across Bristol, the South West and South Wales working on jobs carrying out general maintenance repairs, rectifying any damage and involved in the building of new poster sites. You will also get involved in the fortnightly billposting and general distribution of promotional material across our network of outlets throughout the South West and Wales. You will be organised, a good driver, comfortable working at ladder height, handy with a paint brush as a decorator, flexible as the role is varied and happy to work both solo and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist with the management of our outdoor poster network across Bristol, the South West and South Wales, including organisation of weekly / fortnightly poster changeovers, client reporting and site maintenance.
  • Regular repair and painting of billboards as well as maintenance of surrounding sites
  • Day-to-day minor repair and cleaning of billboards, including damage and graffiti
  • Be part of the team to build new poster frames and poster sites on hoardings.
  • Assist in the installation and billposting of temporary advertising sites at selected events and festivals and University Fresher's Fairs across the South West.
  • Ensure proof of posting / placement for all distributed materials and complete client reports in a timely fashion.


  • Health and safety outdoor posting standards test will have to be taken annually to ensure we are compliant with current standard's.
  • Ability to record work carried out, including photos cataloguing and using our inhouse proof of posting apps and internal MIS systems.
  • Participate in the generation of ideas to the benefit of Out of Hand
  • Any other reasonable task required to ensure the success of Out of Hand
  • Positively promote Out of Hand services to all outside parties


  • Work in a professional and efficient manner at all times
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements, in particular working at height, COSHH and manual lifting regulations
  • Observe all applicable legal requirements
  • Be courteous and helpful to all clients and other members of staff
  • Always represent Out of Hand in a positive manner

Experience required:

  • Full, clean driving licence, you will be provided with a work van
  • Experience in general maintenance work, including painting with decorating experience
  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Proven ability of your experience
  • Experience working up ladders
  • Good communication skills
  • Full training will be given for candidates who are hard-working and possess the right attitude.


  • £20k to £23k depending upon experience, plus benefits
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • 42.5 hours (Monday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm, but may adjust depending on season)
