Out of Hand is an established Design, Print and Distribution specialist based in Edinburgh and Bristol. We are the operators of the official Outdoor Advertisement scheme for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We have a fantastic reputation for our Print & Distribution services in the Events & Leisure sector and are on the current Edinburgh City Council's approved suppliers list.
Out of Hand is contracted to handle all aspects of the Edinburgh Fringe Outdoor Advertisement scheme, this covers various aspects such as building advertisement structures, installing advertisement boards, maintenance and break down. In 2019, the project saw us install over 7km of posters throughout the entire city and our 2023 project is on track to be on a similar scale.
Working as a Street Cleansing Supervisor working under the direction of the Operations Manager the ideal candidate will be required to have very good organisational skills, as well as having experience of working within the Street Cleansing environment or construction environment and related aspects of Health and Safety. The Street Cleansing Supervisor will be responsible for delivering Clean/Maintenance training to the team and making sure the Cleaning Operatives have a cleaning kit and understand how to use our Maintenance App. The main aspect of the role will be to ensure all areas within a 50metre radius of all advertising structures are kept litter, fly poster, sticker and graffiti free. You will also work closely with the Senior Build Supervisor and Operations Manager to coordinate team crossovers and ensure the Build Team have cleaning kits once the installation phase of the project slows.
The Street Cleaning Supervisor will either be issued with a company phone/ipad or will need to download our company specific app onto their personal phone in order to upload Proof of Maintenance to our system. The ideal candidate for this role should be prepared for a fast-paced team environment, where they will be working outside and responsible for various aspects of this project. All staff must wear company specific uniform and PPE at all times whilst at work.
The Project will run from Monday 10th July until Friday 15th September 2023.
We will be running a 7 day a week operation and looking at running some night shifts this year.
Daytime shifts from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Evening shifts from 6.00pm to 2.00am.
Overtime will be available if candidates are interested and paid at an enhanced rate of 1.25 times of standard hourly rate per hour worked over 42.5 hours in the week.
Any evening work undertaken between 10pm and 7am will also equate to an enhanced rate of 1.5 times hourly rate.
The ideal candidate should have experience in this type of work, the ability to undertake physical labouring duties and be able to commit to working the whole duration of the project.
Vehicles / insurance and uniforms will be supplied. Please bring your own steel toe caps.
